MODO COLOR TEST #1...some of my minor activities

hi friends..quite a long time didn't post here due to
1- my workload a bit harsh for the past 10 months
2- im fucked up with some of my picture missing in this blog..
However..i will continue update it from now on..hahaha..if im not too busy..for intro here are some activities i do..test some colors from MGM..known now MODO

Test #1

Test Subject:

Modo color,
Modo Tool Wash, Code D-04(not in the picture),
Modo Thinner, Code D-01-  fast dry thinner
Modo Black Surfacer Code  MK-12
Modo Pure Black Code M002
Modo Star Silver Code MX 21
Modo Clear Sky Blue M044

Additional-

-Also tested their color with Gaianote T06 thinner(moderate)

Purpose of activities

-To achieved metallic sky blue and learn mixing method and get to  known raw materials properties

Method

- Basic paint mixing
-Dry and wet on wet technique when air brushing
Surfacer>pure black>star silver> clear sky blue

Results/Findings

-Modo series have a bit thick viscosity compare to others model paint.suggest to mix/thinned them to ration 1:4 with their own thinner or other brands. its a lacquer base paint, smell horrible (hahaha..sorry modo..i have to be honest..its smells like shit, but the worst is A-Star paint). paint is safe on plastic kit, tested on gundam and militarily kit.

-Their Star silver color, eventually the color particle is not very smooth resulting just a liltle bit roucg finished surface but its not too obvious.still you can manipulate and playing around with the color.
i do recommended to mix it with ratio 1:7 or 1:8 due to their color properties/viscosity.

- For the clear sky blue, no major issue except the thick viscosity

*NOTE* this is what i learn and prefer my basic ratio on mixing lacquer paint
-Normal Color, flat, clear and gloss- 1:3 ( 1 part paint, 3 part thinner)
- For Metallic including pearl color- 1:6 ( 1 part paint, 6 part thinner)
Conclusion

- Its a nice color to play with but my concern is on the silver particle only, other than that i can say it is recommended, another tips- the color hardly sticks on untreated area (surface MUST BE undercoat/treated with surfacer )

*NOTE* picture column #6, the middle spoon (black one) is base coated with Gaianote Star Bright Silver for comparison results only!

CAUTION: PLEASE WEAR MASK AND YOUR WORKSTATION MUST BE WELL VENTILATED WHEN AIR BRUSHING ACTIVITIES OCCUR!

I'm still playing around and try to understand the mixture using their product line.i will do review another one. Stay tune and hopes the info will help others.
Thanx
